Pre-wiring is all pros and no cons! The cost to run wires during the construction phase of a home is minimal and the savings it presents are massive! Wire is cheap, time is not. By having everything pre-run, you know that in any room of your house you can add essentially anything you would like without the need to break walls and run more wires. This opens up budgets to add more products since labor is minimal.
More Options
Retrofit situations allow us to offer certain products without the need for existing wiring. However, with a pre-wired home, there are no limitations. This lets homeowners choose what they would like and when, since adding something in the future is much simpler, and cheaper! It is not uncommon for our clients to focus their budget on one area of their home and simply expand it!
We will begin by requesting a copy of your CAD drawings, with this, we will sit down with you and discuss the options with your goals and preferences mind. We find that pre-wiring for everything is ideal since the cost of wire is low and pulling an extra wire or two does not add much cost.
We will then take the CAD drawing and add in all the wiring as well as the ideal locations for all devices, which will then be handed over to your contractor for their approval.
